Fogex nozzles are manufactured to exacting standards ensuring that our customers get the best current technology possible. Manufactured of Aluminium Bronze or stainless steel ensures that Fogex nozzles can withstand high pressures and be resistant to corrosion. Fogex nozzles provide a formidable fire fighting capability using minute amounts of water for fire extinguishment. Fogex water mist nozzles are the smallest and lightweight less than 30 grams each means less system weight and reduced clutter. Fogex nozzles enhance the aesthetics of an engine room compartment and do not protrude. No moving parts ensure no nozzle failures to increase reliability. Using the latest state-of-the-art computerised fully automated CNC machines the Fogex nozzles are made to exacting standards to ensure reliability and no defects. All design and manufacturing is performed in strict accordance with our ISO9001, JAS-ANZ, AS9001 and NZS9001 Quality Assurance procedures. NOZZLE FEATURES SMALL SIZE: The Fogex F20, F27 and F11 & automatic glass bulb type FA20, FA27 and FA11 water fog nozzles are the smallest multi-orifice water mist nozzles available on the international marketplace. This means less system weight, better aesthetics and lower production costs. With water flow rates from just 5.3 litres per minute and up to 10.0 litres per minute, the Fogex system excels on efficiency and reduced water related damage through excessive wetting. With small water flows this translates to smaller system components, smaller pumps, smaller diameter pipe work and less overall system weight and clutter. The cost to the customer is also minimised. ADDED SAFETY: The Fogex water mist nozzles have been pressure tested in excess of 320 bars without failure meaning increased safety. Fogex open type deluge nozzles are a one piece design and are supplied complete with an internal 316 Stainless steel sieve to prevent nozzle blockage. The Fogex system operating pressure is 100-110 bars thus it is safe to use in occupied spaces. Fogex assists to scrub the atmosphere within a fire hazard area causing the smoke soot and combustion by-products to settle on the ground. This assists in breathing and reduces smoke related damage to property. Fine water fog droplets also reduce ambient room and ceiling gas temperatures thus reducing the incidence of flash-over phenomena. SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE: Size for size the Fogex nozzles demonstrated a formidable fire extinguishing capability against volatile hydrocarbon fuel fires, such as, concealed n-Heptane pan fires and cascading and pressure spraying n-Heptane and Diesel fires. Local Application testing witnessed all prescribed test fires being extinguished between 4 and 29 seconds. This is for all 1.OMW and 6.OMW Diesel spray fires. Only 8 nozzles were used in the test and each nozzle delivered 10.0 litres of water per minute at 100 bar pressure. Walls were not constructed around the test fires and oxygen was unrestricted during fire testing. Fogex extinguished the test fires with remarkable speed using very minimal amounts of water. The minimum nozzle distance to the fire source was 2.0 metres and the maximum nozzle distance to the fire source was 10.1 metres. Nozzle grid matrix spacing was 4m x 4m. The Fogex F11 nozzles were used for Local Application testing. Fogex nozzles are defined as single fluid Class 1 water mist nozzles as per NFPA 750 Standards. LOWER WATER CONSUMPTION: Fogex uses around 10% of the volume of water compared to that of a conventional water sprinkler. This means less demand on our precious water resources and entailing greater system efficiency. Less water usage means less water related damage to your property. The water spray flux density for Fogex is typically 0.08 - 0.10 L/Min/cubic metre of space to be protected. Fogex also uses smaller diameter Stainless steel pipes or tubing. Pipes or tube can be as small as 1/4" diameter. This translates to less system clutter and lower overall weight. SYSTEM TYPES Fogex Water Mist Fire Protection Systems are supplied in two forms; 1. Pump systems 2. Pressure Skid Modules (PSM's) Pump Systems: Fogex pump systems comprise of either electric high pressure piston pump(s) or Diesel high pressure piston pumps. High pressure piston pumps are connected to the water supply and to the Stainless steel distribution pipe work that contains the water mist nozzles. Pumps have local automatic and manual start/stop panels and are supplied complete with RX3 unloaders, pressure gauges, pressure sender switches, ammeters, electric (or Diesel) motors, mounted onto a heavy duty Galvanized steel base or frame with anti-vibration mounts. Pump cabinets are IP rated forthe specific hazards. Diesel pump sets are supplied with over-speed regulators, batteries and leads, RX-3 unloaders, ammeters, local auto start/stop panel, fuel tank, radiators for engine cooling (if water cooled engines are used), exhaust manifold all mounted onto a heavy duty Galvanized steel frame or base with anti-vibration mounts. High pressure pumps are heavy duty design and manufactured with strict Quality Assurance procedures. We offer an extensive range of high pressure piston pumps to suit any sized project. When more than one pump is supplied on a project, the pumps are manifolded together to deliver the correct quantity of water and pressure under continuous flow. Pumps can be either automatically or manually started and stopped. High pressure piston pumps range in sizes and flows from several litres per minute and in excess of 316 litres per minute. Some picture examples of electric high pressure piston pumps can be seen below. FOGEX "Pressure Skid Modules" PSM-Cylinders System:: Fogex Water Mist Fire Protection System can be supplied as self contained Pressure Skid Modules (PSM's). The quantity of water contained is determined by hydraulic calculations based on type and quantity of nozzles installed and the desired system running time. High pressure lined steel cylinders are used to avoid the possibility of corrosion and internal discolouration of water. Dry Nitrogen gas is used for system pressurisation. Fogex PSM's are manufactured and supplied in various sizes and arrangements. PSM's can be supplied "loose" meaning that the water and Nitrogen bottles can be bracketed to a nearby wall or Fogex PSM's can be supplied in a steel cradle or skid. Fogex Stainless steel high pressure actuator heads compliment the PSM's. Pressure gauges, pressure sender switches and Fogex high pressure 24VDC electric %4-turn actuator ball valves are also supplied and fitted onto the PSM. Fogex high pressure Stainless steel gas manifolds and regulators may also be supplied where desired. Fogex PSM water bottles remain un-pressurised until the system is activated. Atypical small Fogex PSM is shown in the picture. |
